Role Description

The Reimbursement Specialist is responsible for managing specific patient cases assigned to them related to reimbursement and coordination for the NavieGo branch of the organization. The Reimbursement Specialist serves as the single point of contact for assigned healthcare providers and ensures the smooth coordination of the entire patient journey.

Your Mission:

• Facilitate the entire patient journey, ensuring seamless communication between all parties involved.
• Serve as the single point of contact for assigned healthcare providers, addressing inquiries related to patient cases.
• Coordinate and manage all aspects required to obtain prescription drug coverage for patients.
• Complete documents, submissions and all related paperwork to insurance companies and public funding programs in an accurate and timely manner.
• Coordinate cases with insurance companies, physician’s offices, and healthcare professionals in order to assist a patient in their journey on treatment.
• Coordinate clinic appointments and drug deliveries within timelines.
• Provide support and guidance to patients and healthcare providers throughout the reimbursement process, while building relationships that foster trust.
• Implement best practices as required to maximize a patient's access to drug coverage.
• Coordinate with pharmacy processes required once funding has been obtained.
• Apply an in-depth knowledge of public and private funding systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency in reimbursement process.
• Continuously strive to enhance the overall patient experience and satisfaction with the reimbursement process.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
• Qualified Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Practical Nurse (valid license) is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer/client service and health care reimbursement.
• Prior experience in oncology is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or insurance industry is an asset.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft and Google applications (Google apps, Word, Excel).
• Able to work rotating shifts Monday through Friday, covering the hours of 8 AM to 8 PM. Your regular scheduled hours will be from 9:00am – 5:00pm EDT.
• English proficiency is required for this position to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
