Role Description
The Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric care to individuals receiving services with a broad range of physical, mental, behavioral, and social conditions at LifePath Systems. The Psychiatrist will utilize initiative and independent judgment within their scope of practice.

Consult with other specialists for specialized conditions or for counseling.

Provide backup services to other Medical Staff.

Perform complex psychiatric clinical work in a culturally competent, trauma-informed, person-centered method.

Evaluate individuals and provide evaluation and management services.

Coordinate care with other workforce members within LifePath Systems continuum of treatment programs.

Complete culturally and linguistically appropriate, trauma-informed, person-centered assessments and recovery plans.

Determine diagnoses and, if applicable, prescribe psychotropic medications.

Ensure proper laboratory tests and screenings are ordered and evaluate all results prior to prescribing and/or renewing psychotropic medications.

Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings regarding referrals, death reviews, and assistance in developing the person-centered recovery plan.

Ensure that all clinical practices are completed in accordance with their scope of practice as recognized by the Texas Medical Board.
Work days and hours will be determined during the interview process. Position may be filled remotely, but not an absolute option.
Qualifications

Medical Doctorate Degree or equivalent from an accredited medical school.

Current licensure from the Texas Board of Medical Examiners that is in good standing.

Must have a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate.

Unrestricted eligibility to participate in network for Medicare/Medicaid/Other third-party payers.
Requirements

Knowledge of best practices in diagnosing, treating, and evaluating progress of individuals with serious mental illness (SMI).

Ability and skill in collaborating with individuals with special clinical needs.

Ability to collaborate and problem solve within a cross-functional environment.

Knowledge of trauma-informed care and person-centered recovery.

Clear, trauma-informed communication skills, both oral and written.

Knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multicultural and diverse situations.

Knowledge of the social services system and the ability to connect individuals with appropriate care.

Ability to inspire an environment that provides compassionate care to individuals with SMI while maintaining confidentiality, respect, and dignity of each individual irrespective of their cultural background and severity of psychopathology.

Knowledge of and strong skills, including Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Ability to accurately and concisely document information using an electronic health record (EHR).
