Role Description

This role involves making payment determinations for claims, particularly in emergency services. The responsibilities include:

• Deciding payment determinations based on CPT codes.
• Reviewing claims for emergency services, ambulance services, air ambulance, and non-air ambulance.
• Validating and verifying data without actual coding.
• Working within the internal database/system that houses all claims and cases.

Hours: M-F 8am - 4:30 CST

Qualifications

• Prefer entry-level coding candidates with little to no coding experience.
• Previous experience with appeals and extensive experience with EOBs.
• CPC or CPC-A certification must be active and up to date.
• Experience coding/billing emergency services is helpful but not required.
• Billers with their CPC-A who want to transition into coding are also considered.

Requirements

• MUST HAVE CPC OR CPC-A certification.
• Knowledge/experience in emergency services is helpful but not required.
