Role Description

The Emergency Department RN rapidly triages and assesses patients, initiates urgent interventions, administers medications and treatments, and continuously monitors for changes in condition. The nurse works closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to deliver timely, coordinated care while supporting patients and families through high-stress situations with compassion and clear communication.

Emergency nursing allows you to use broad clinical knowledge, quick decision-making, and teamwork to care for patients when they need help most. You will work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same and where your ability to assess, prioritize, and respond can have an immediate impact.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (must obtain BSN within 12 years of hire)
• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within 3 months from date of hire
• Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or within 1 year from date of hire
• Must possess and maintain current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year of hire date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within 1 year of hire date
