Role Description

The Labor & Delivery RN provides individualized nursing care for mothers, newborns, and gynecological surgery patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum care, and newborn transition. The nurse:

• Monitors maternal and fetal status
• Administers medications and treatments
• Assists with vaginal and Cesarean deliveries
• Provides education
• Coordinates care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team

Labor and delivery nursing offers the opportunity to support patients and families through some of life’s most meaningful moments. You will combine clinical expertise, attentive monitoring, education, and emotional support while working with a collaborative team committed to safe, respectful, family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active license to practice nursing in the state of Iowa
• At least an Associate's degree in nursing
• RN employees are required to have or obtain a BSN within five years after their start date with UnityPoint Health - Finley Hospital
