[Hiring] Coder Review Analyst @LAKE REGION HEALTHCARE

Role Description

The Coder Review Analyst will research, analyze, and correct coding related claim edits and denials. This position works closely with billing staff to:

• Create and resolve appeals
• Provide requested documentation to payers
• Address other issues that arise

The Analyst will:

• Identify possible edit opportunities within internal systems to reduce denials
• Research and analyze payer policies to ensure compliance with payer, state, and federal regulations
• Work with Coding Management to present educational opportunities based on regulations and ongoing trends
• Apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to claims based on guidelines and policies
• Actively seek out educational opportunities to remain current with all regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate's degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or related field
• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification, or eligibility for obtaining RHIA/RHIT certification within six months of hire
• Prefer experience in coding
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Ability to operate computer equipment
• Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required
• Must be able to attend the work site per schedule

Requirements

• 80 hours biweekly, 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday
• This is a fully remote role available to candidates in Minnesota, North Dakota, or South Dakota only
