Role Description
The Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. (LFA) is seeking an exceptionally compassionate, culturally competent Registered Nurse to serve as the Lupus Clinical Trial Navigator. This role supports a bi-directional partnership between the Lupus Foundation of America and several academic medical centers conducting lupus clinical trials.

Serve as the primary liaison between the Research Accelerated by You (RAY) Lupus Patient Registry and active lupus clinical trials.

Guide registry participants through education, screening, and enrollment stages of the clinical trial process.

Maintain great work ethic and productivity, working both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid and/or remote environment.

Facilitate collaboration across academic partners and people living with lupus.

Manage protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA.
Qualifications

Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state(s) of practice.

Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience; rheumatology, immunology, oncology, or research experience strongly preferred.

Demonstrated experience working with underrepresented communities in healthcare settings.

Strong knowledge of clinical trial processes, including informed consent and eligibility screening.

Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.

Experience partnering with academic medical centers and clinical trial teams.

Comfort working independently in a remote or hybrid environment.

Proficiency with electronic health systems and maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Requirements

Conduct structured intake consultations with new RAY registry participants.

Maintain ongoing relationships with registry participants through regular outreach.

Provide culturally sensitive education about clinical trials.

Address common barriers to participation.

Maintain current knowledge of eligibility criteria for active lupus clinical trials.

Conduct pre-screening interviews and coordinate baseline assessments.

Document participant-reported barriers and solutions.

Participate in monthly touchpoint meetings with academic medical center research coordinators.

Maintain accurate records in alignment with the RAY Registry database.

Contribute data and narrative content to quarterly and annual grant progress reports.

Assist in preparation of IRB submissions and partnership documentation.
