Role Description

The Certified Medical Assistant provides care for the patient under the physician's direction. Responsibilities include:

• Preparing patients for exams
• Assisting during treatments
• Coordinating tests and follow-up care
• Recording treatment in the medical record
• Explaining patient instructions to the patient/family
• Demonstrating competency and skills to serve patients of all ages including neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
• Performing other duties related to front office registration, laboratory testing, and radiology functions within a specialty setting
• Participating in orientation and taking pre and post-tests to review competency
• Completing yearly competency test

Qualifications

• Current Medical Assistant license appropriate for the state in which the Business Unit is located
• Able to obtain licensure in other states, as required by state law or contract
• Must have received the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment
• Minimum 6 months experience preferred

Requirements

• Entering patient information in electronic medical records (EMR) system
• Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider
• Performing a variety of office responsibilities: answering phones, taking messages, and assisting with triage
