Role Description

The Primary Care Complex Emotional Needs Service is an intermediate psychological service that sits between Talking Therapies and secondary mental health services. The service provides psychological interventions for clients who experience difficulties that may be associated with a personality disorder, as well as clients with PTSD/CPTSD whose needs fall between Talking Therapies and secondary mental health services.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner (MHWP) to join our team. The role involves:

• Providing brief psychological interventions.
• Co-facilitating therapeutic groups for clients with Complex Emotional Needs and PTSD/CPTSD.
• Broadening experience of working with clients presenting with Complex Emotional Needs and PTSD/CPTSD.
• Developing skills within a specialist service that bridges the gap between primary and secondary care.

This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already hold the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application.

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering well-being focused brief interventions.
• Ability to co-facilitate psychoeducational groups.
• Experience working alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide integrated, trauma-informed care.

Requirements

• Working closely alongside a team of mental health professionals.
• Delivering brief, wellbeing-focused, psychologically informed interventions tailored to the needs of clients experiencing Complex PTSD (CPTSD) and Complex Emotional Needs.
• Co-facilitating trauma-focused psychoeducational groups and DBT informed skills groups.
• Supporting the wider MDT with assessments and creating personalised treatment plans.
• Collaborating with the team to ensure holistic care.
• Contributing to service development and maintaining accurate clinical records.
• Participating in CPD and other developmental activities.
