Role Description
The SEO Manager, AI Search & GEO will be a core member of the SEO team and responsible for helping with hands-on technical SEO, on-page optimization, content strategy, competitive research, and organic performance across a portfolio of Career Certified brands. The role will also help build our approach to Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and AI search visibility.

Monitor and improve the technical SEO health of assigned Career Certified websites.

Identify technical issues that may limit search engine discovery and work with web teams to resolve them.

Implement and maintain structured data.

Review site architecture, URL structure, navigation, and internal linking.

Support website migrations, redesigns, CMS changes, and new site or brand launches.

Diagnose unexpected traffic, ranking, or indexing changes.

Conduct keyword research and search intent analysis.
-
Build and maintain keyword and topic maps.
-
Identify organic growth opportunities across various searches.
-
Optimize on-page elements such as title tags and meta descriptions.

Evaluate existing content for updates or consolidation.
-
Conduct competitor research to identify gaps and opportunities.
-
Help grow brand authority through digital PR and content.

Monitor changes in Google Search and translate those changes into recommendations.

Develop and refine Career Certified's approach to GEO and AEO.

Analyze AI systems' citations for important topics.

Apply traditional SEO concepts to improve visibility across search.

Test GEO and AEO tactics and document measurable changes.

Build and maintain a consistent set of priority prompts and topics for each brand.

Track brand mentions, citations, and changes in AI search visibility.

Evaluate AI search visibility by platform and topic.
-
Combine AI visibility data with other signals to understand business impact.

Work with content teams to develop pages around real search demand.

Create content briefs that incorporate various analyses.

Improve existing pages for clearer and more authoritative answers.

Identify opportunities for original expertise and proprietary data.
-
Monitor organic search performance using various SEO platforms.
-
Track rankings, clicks, impressions, and other performance indicators.
-
Identify meaningful changes in organic performance.
-
Surface emerging opportunities and search behavior changes.
-
Partner with web and ecommerce teams to incorporate SEO requirements.
-
Translate SEO and AI search findings into clear recommendations.
-
Present organic and AI search performance to leadership.
Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on SEO experience across technical SEO, content optimization, keyword research, and organic performance analysis.

Demonstrated experience diagnosing and resolving technical SEO issues.

Strong understanding of how search engines crawl, render, index, rank, and surface web content.

Experience building SEO strategies across large websites or complex product portfolios.

Experience using data from Google Search Console and GA4.
-
Hands-on experience with Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, or similar platforms.
-
Practical experience testing GEO, AEO, or AI search visibility strategies.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Requirements

Ability to explain tested AI search strategies and measured outcomes.

Comfortable working in a developing area with unproven industry claims.

Able to manage multiple brands and priorities simultaneously.

Familiarity with exam cycles, regulatory seasonality, or state-specific licensing content preferred.

Experience with BigQuery, Looker Studio/Data Studio, SQL, and log file analysis preferred.
