Role Description
The SEO/AEO Specialist plays a key role in growing organic visibility and direct traffic for CLIENT. Reporting to the SEO/AEO Strategist, they work directly with our SEO agency and with marketing, content, and development teams to ensure the website is found, trusted, and cited across traditional search engines and AI answer engines.
Position Scope:

Supports the SEO/AEO strategy by reviewing, prioritizing, and overseeing the implementation of search and answer engine optimizations across the website and related properties.

Accountable for on-time, accurate execution of agency recommendations and for bringing forward their own data-driven recommendations to the SEO/AEO Strategist.

Helps manage the Holland America blog and the SEO/blog content calendar, and writes and optimizes blog posts, articles, or other site content as needed.

Proactive and organized, embodying a blend of writing skills, analytical expertise, and technical SEO knowledge.
Responsibilities

Agency Partnership and Implementation:
-
Partner with the SEO/AEO Strategist to manage day-to-day work with our SEO/AEO agency, including working sessions, deliverables, and timelines.

Review agency audits, recommendations, and deliverables for accuracy, brand alignment, and business impact.

Help prioritize optimizations by effort and impact, and maintain the implementation roadmap set with the SEO/AEO Strategist.

Oversee implementation of approved optimizations with development, product, content, and ecommerce teams, from ticket through launch.

Ensure quality and accuracy by QA-ing changes once live and following up on issues with precision and urgency.

SEO/AEO Recommendations and Optimization:

Bring forward SEO and AEO recommendations to the SEO/AEO Strategist based on data, competitive research, and emerging trends.

Optimize content for AI answer engines and generative search through structured content, schema markup, and entity optimization.

Conduct keyword, topic, and question research to identify content gaps and opportunities across destinations, ships, and cruise planning.

Monitor technical SEO health, including crawlability, indexation, site speed, and structured data, and flag issues to the appropriate teams.

Create dashboards, provide reports, and identify insights on rankings, organic traffic, AI visibility and citations, and conversions.

Blog and Content Management:

Help manage the Holland America blog, ensuring content quality, SEO best practices, internal linking, and regular content refreshes.

Support the SEO/blog content calendar, coordinating topics and timelines with writers, the agency, and internal stakeholders.

Review, write and edit blog posts and web content as needed, adhering to Holland America brand voice and style guidelines.

Create content briefs that give writers clear direction on keywords, search intent, structure, and AEO-friendly formatting.

Collaborate with brand, social, email, and PR teams so search insights inform broader content plans.
Qualifications
-
3β5 years' experience in SEO, in-house or at an agency, including on-page, technical, and content SEO.

3+ years' experience writing and editing search-optimized content; portfolio of published work required.

Working knowledge of AEO and generative search, including how AI assistants find, summarize, and cite content.

Experience managing agency relationships or reviewing third-party SEO recommendations.

Experience utilizing analytics tools, creating dashboards, and delivering performance reports. Experience in Adobe Analytics a plus.

Strong proficiency in SEO and digital tools, such as Google Search Console, Semrush, Ahrefs or Conductor, AEM, and Asana.

Experience with Profound, Similarweb, or similar AI visibility and competitive intelligence tools a plus.

Experience in the cruise or travel industry a plus.

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, from content planning through publishing and implementation.

Excellent written communication, editing, and presentation skills.
-
Must possess exceptional organization and process discipline, staying ahead of deadlines and deliverables.

Contract Pay Rate: $8,160 - $9,860/month ($48/hr β $58/hr W2) DOE β this rate assumes full benefits.
