The mission of the Senior SEO & AI Search Manager is to build a scalable organic growth engine that keeps SIG, FUS, and SCM visible everywhere customers search, from Google and Local Search to AI-powered experiences like AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.

Outcomes

Grow qualified organic traffic by 20 to 30% year over year across all three brands.

Increase Local Pack presence to 35 to 55% share of priority local search terms per FreeUp Storage facility.

Achieve consistent brand appearance in AI-generated answers for at least 75% of tracked branded and category queries.

Maintain a Core Web Vitals pass rate above 95% across all brand websites.

Shift organic's share of total site traffic to 45% or higher, reducing dependence on paid acquisition.

Improve blended organic click-through rate by 1 to 2 percentage points by moving priority keywords into the top 3 organic positions.

Establish a documented, repeatable enterprise SEO & AEO playbook usable across all three brands within 90 days.

Increase referring domains and overall domain authority by 15 to 20% year over year through structured authority building.

Deliver monthly competitive and performance reporting that translates into at least 3 actionable recommendations per cycle for Content, Web Development, and Growth Marketing.

Improve organic contribution to occupancy, tracked alongside Growth Marketing's occupancy KPIs, with a documented lift in priority facilities.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Technical SEO and Local SEO.

Experience managing SEO for multi-location businesses.

Strong understanding of search engine algorithms.

English Proficiency: Advanced professional fluency in English is required.

Ability to work full-time and maintain significant overlap with U.S. business hours.
Requirements

Technical SEO: crawl optimization, indexation, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, internal linking, schema markup, structured data, canonicalization, and redirect management.

Local SEO: Google Business Profile, local citations, Maps optimization, location pages, review optimization, and multi-location SEO.

SEO platforms: Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and preferably BrightLocal.

AI Search: Generative Engine Optimization, AI Search optimization, entity SEO, Knowledge Graph optimization, large language models, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and ChatGPT search experiences.

Additional skills: HTML/CSS fundamentals, WordPress or CMS experience, Excel or Google Sheets, Looker Studio, keyword research, and content optimization.
