[Hiring] Head of Product Marketing @Mend.io

Role Description

As we continue to scale globally, we are seeking a strategic, market-driven Head of Product Marketing to define our positioning, sharpen our differentiation, and accelerate revenue growth — including establishing Mend.io as the definitive voice in AI Security and expanding our reach through direct, channel, and technology alliance partnerships.

This role will lead Mend.io's product marketing strategy and execution across our application security, AI Security, and software supply chain security offerings. This leader will own:

• Messaging
• Positioning
• Competitive strategy
• Pricing & packaging input
• Analyst relations
• Partner and alliance marketing deliverables
• Go-to-market enablement

This is a highly cross-functional role working closely with:

• Product
• Sales
• Business Development/Alliances
• Customer Success
• Demand Generation
• Executive Leadership

Responsibilities include:

• Strategic Leadership
  • Define and evolve Mend.io's category narrative, positioning, and differentiated value proposition, with AI Security as a core pillar of the company's forward strategy
  • Shape and refine ICP segmentation and buyer personas across enterprise security, AI Security, AppSec, DevSecOps, and engineering leaders
  • Drive go-to-market strategy for new product launches and major releases, including AI Security capabilities and partner-delivered solutions
  • Translate product capabilities into compelling business value for CISOs and security decision-makers
• Messaging & Positioning
  • Develop clear, differentiated messaging frameworks aligned to key verticals and use cases, including securing AI-generated code, AI productivity agents, and AI/ML application risk
  • Own core messaging across website, sales materials, field enablement, and campaigns
  • Elevate Mend's thought leadership in AI Security, open source security, AST, and software supply chain security
• Sales Enablement & Revenue Acceleration
  • Build scalable sales enablement programs including playbooks, pitch decks, battlecards, ROI tools, and objection handling frameworks
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to evaluate win rates and shorten sales cycles
  • Support enterprise deals with strategic messaging and competitive insights
• Product Launch & Portfolio Marketing
  • Lead cross-functional product launch processes
  • Ensure cohesive positioning across Mend.io's platform and modules, including AI Security offerings
  • Influence roadmap prioritization through market and competitive insights
• Competitive & Market Intelligence
  • Establish a structured competitive intelligence function, including tracking of the emerging AI Security vendor landscape
  • Analyze market trends, industry shifts, and emerging threats impacting AppSec and AI Security
  • Equip sales teams with actionable competitive differentiation
• Partner & Alliance Marketing
  • Develop and execute partner marketing deliverables across direct, channel, and technology alliance partnerships to expand Mend.io's reach and influence
  • Build joint value propositions, co-marketing campaigns, and enablement content with strategic technology alliance partners (e.g., cloud, CI/CD, SIEM/SOAR, and AI development platform integrations)
  • Partner with Business Development/Alliances to create channel partner enablement, including partner playbooks, training, and co-selling materials for resellers, MSSPs, and GSIs
  • Support joint go-to-market motions with technology alliances, such as marketplace listings, integrations, and co-branded campaigns
  • Represent Mend.io in partner-facing events, joint webinars, and alliance business reviews
• Analyst & Industry Influence
  • Lead Analyst Relations to strengthen positioning in industry reports, e.g., Gartner, Forrester, IDC — including emerging AI Security categories
  • Represent Mend.io at key industry events, conferences, and executive briefings
  • Participate and influence content delivery arc for product roadmap
• Team Leadership
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing product marketing team
  • Establish measurable goals tied to pipeline contribution, win rates, and product adoption

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years of B2B SaaS marketing experience with 5+ years in senior product marketing leadership
• Strong background in cybersecurity, application security, AI Security, DevSecOps, or developer-focused SaaS
• Proven experience marketing to enterprise buyers, CISOs, security leaders, platform engineering
• Demonstrated success in scaling product marketing at a growth-stage company
• Experience supporting complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles
• Experience developing and executing partner marketing programs across direct, channel, and technology alliance partnerships; familiarity with partner ecosystems (marketplaces, ISVs, MSSPs/resellers, GSIs) a plus
• Understanding of AI/ML security concepts and the risks associated with AI-generated code, or strong ability to quickly build fluency in this space
• Strong executive communication and storytelling skills
• Analytical mindset with experience leveraging market and performance data to drive strategy. Operational system experience: SFDC, Jira
• Experience working with industry analysts and influencing market perception
• Comfort and experience leveraging AI-enabled tools, including large language models, to drive efficiency and results
