[Hiring] Director of SEO @Powered by search

Role Description

This Role Is Not About Publishing Content or Fixing Tags. It's about owning revenue, retention, and the standard of excellence for SEO and AI Search at Powered by Search. If you're a senior SEO leader who wants full accountability for growth, client outcomes, and team performance, this role is designed for you.

As Director of SEO, you will own the vision, performance, and revenue impact of the SEO department, spanning traditional organic search and AI search visibility. This is a true P&L-owning senior leadership role. You are accountable for:

• Protecting and improving net revenue retention (NRR)
• Growing revenue within the existing SEO client base
• Ensuring our SEO service is best-in-class, scalable, and defensible as search shifts toward AI-driven discovery
• Building, coaching, and holding accountable a team of senior SEO experts

You'll manage 4-6 direct reports, work directly with executive stakeholders internally, and serve as a trusted advisor to senior client leaders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of SEO experience, including 3+ years in B2B SaaS
• 5+ years leading teams, including senior-level managers or leads
• Proven experience leading SEO programs for complex, high-growth websites (large content libraries, multiple products or markets)
• Demonstrated success driving expansion revenue and retention
• Deep expertise in technical SEO, content strategy, and authority/link building; strong working knowledge of AI search visibility (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other LLM-driven discovery)
• Strong understanding of pipeline, attribution, and revenue reporting (GA4, Google Search Console, and CRM data)
• Experience partnering with Sales, RevOps, Content, and Marketing leadership
• Comfort operating in a fully remote, globally distributed environment
