Role Description
We're looking for an Adobe Email Marketing Specialist to build and run the email and cross-channel campaigns behind our client engagements. This is a hands-on role on both sides of the platform:
-
Designing workflows in Adobe Campaign and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).
-
Shaping the data model and troubleshooting deliveries.
-
Building, QAs, and deploying the campaigns themselves.
This role may be fully remote or involve a flexible hybrid work model that accommodates virtual and in-office collaboration.
Essential Functions:
-
Design, build, and maintain the Adobe Campaign workflows behind client programs β targeting, segmentation, enrichment, deduplication, scheduling, and recurring and continuous deliveries.
-
Write and optimize the SQL and JavaScript inside those workflows, and diagnose the queries that are quietly slowing a campaign down.
-
Extend and maintain the Campaign data model: custom schemas, input forms, navigation, and the mapping between Campaign and client-side data sources.
-
Build and maintain imports, exports, and integrations with CRM, web analytics, and client systems (SFTP, APIs, file-based feeds).
-
Own the technical side of email deliverability β authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), IP and domain warming, bounce and quarantine handling, suppression logic, and seed and inbox placement testing.
-
Execute the campaign calendar end to end: audience pulls, template builds, proofing, stakeholder approvals, scheduling, and deployment.
-
Manage lists, preference centers, subscription services, and unsubscribe handling in line with CAN-SPAM and client consent requirements.
-
Build and deliver campaign reporting, design and run A/B and multivariate tests, and turn the results into actionable recommendations.
-
Maintain runbooks and documentation so campaign execution doesn't live in one person's head, and integrate AI into the daily workflow where appropriate.
Qualifications
-
At least 4 years of hands-on Adobe Campaign or AJO experience, including production ownership.
-
Demonstrated ability to build multi-step workflows independently.
-
Strong SQL and JavaScript skills.
-
Solid grasp of relational data modeling and Campaign's schema layer.
-
Practical email deliverability knowledge.
-
HTML and CSS for email, including responsive patterns.
-
Working knowledge of CAN-SPAM and consent requirements.
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Requirements
-
Hands-on experience in AJO β building event-triggered, batch, and unitary journeys.
-
Working knowledge of Adobe Experience Platform underneath AJO.
-
Message authoring in AJO across various channels.
-
An informed point of view on how Adobe Campaign and AJO coexist.
-
Adobe certification in either platform.
-
Experience migrating from Campaign Classic v7 to Campaign v8.
-
Experience with other Adobe platforms.
-
Public sector, government, nonprofit, or advocacy campaign experience.
-
Agency background with comfort in managing multiple clients.
-
Familiarity with an adjacent ESP or marketing automation platform.
Benefits
-
Competitive salaries.
-
Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
-
401(k) employer contributions and matching.
-
Dynamic hybrid work environment.
-
Growth opportunities in a variety of specialty areas.
