Role Description
We are delighted to announce that we are looking for a 0-4 year PQE Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer to join our Property Recoveries team on a permanent basis. This is a claimant-focused role, working on property damage insurance recovery claims arising from a range of perils, including fire, flood, impact, and escape of water.
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a varied caseload of:

Pre-litigated and litigated property recovery claims typically valued between Β£10,000 and Β£100,000.

What you will do:

Work within one of our Property Recoveries teams in a predominantly claimant-based role.

Undertake a range of property recovery work, including investigatory tasks across fast track and intermediate track claims.

Investigate liability on a variety of recovery claims arising from perils such as escape of water, flooding, impact, and fire damage.

Manage your own caseload of pre-litigated and litigated property recovery claims, including negotiating quantum and settlement of damages with third parties.

Obtain witness statements, liaise with relevant parties to obtain key documentation, draft letters of claim, issue proceedings, manage disclosure, instruct Counsel and experts, and progress claims through to trial.

Assist on larger and more complex litigated matters where appropriate.

Support marketing and business development activities within the team.

Maintain an awareness of the firm's core strategies and objectives, whilst handling confidential information in accordance with the firm's data security protocols.

Ensure full compliance with client and internal protocols relating to billing and credit control, and demonstrate strong financial management of your files.

Achieve key performance measures, including a minimum annual target of 1,440 chargeable hours.

Become involved in client-facing activities, networking, marketing, and business development initiatives, helping to build both the business and your own professional profile.

Qualifications

Qualified Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer with Litigation Rights, or substantial pre-qualification experience.

An interest in developing expertise in insurance property damage recoveries and the underlying principles of contract and tort law.
