Role Description

Take ownership of meaningful immigration matters and directly impact individuals and families navigating life-changing legal issues.

• Handle a diverse mix of USCIS, humanitarian, and removal defense matters rather than being limited to one area of immigration law.

Manage an active immigration docket from strategy through filing, hearing, and resolution.

• Handle USCIS, humanitarian, and removal defense matters.
• Lead family petitions, adjustment of status, waivers, asylum, withholding of removal, CAT claims, cancellation of removal, bonds, detained matters, naturalization, RFEs, NOIDs, motions, and EOIR proceedings.
• Supervise attorneys and paralegals, establishing clear expectations for deadlines, work quality, and hearing readiness.
• Review and strengthen legal filings before submission.
• Make strategic decisions regarding case theory, evidence, and filing strategy.
• Handle complex client conversations with professionalism, judgment, and empathy.
• Maintain accurate deadlines and case activity through MyCase and internal production calendars.
• Mentor attorneys and help strengthen the quality and consistency of the immigration practice.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of U.S. immigration law experience.
• Significant experience with USCIS matters, humanitarian immigration, and removal defense.
• Active law license in good standing in any U.S. state.
• Authority to practice before EOIR.
• Proven experience supervising attorneys and paralegals.
• Strong independent docket and deadline management skills.
• Experience with detained and non-detained immigration hearings preferred.
• Texas Bar membership or Board Certification in Immigration and Nationality Law preferred.
• Spanish language skills are helpful but not required.
