Role Description

Gordon Feinblatt LLC is seeking an experienced attorney to join our industry-leading practice. This is a first-chair opportunity at the center of Maryland’s energy transition, representing clients in high-stakes matters before the Maryland Public Service Commission on the issues defining the state’s energy and public utility future.

The attorney in this role will take a leading position on sophisticated regulatory work, including:

• CPCN permitting for solar, battery energy storage, and fossil fuel generation projects
• Utility rate cases and other major contested proceedings before the Maryland Public Service Commission
• Regulatory and policy matters, including Commission rulemakings and legislative initiatives in Annapolis
• Cutting-edge issues such as interconnection, energy storage, community solar, and net energy metering

This position offers substantial client contact, first-chair responsibility in contested proceedings, and a meaningful role in shaping and growing the practice.

Qualifications

• First-chair experience in contested regulatory, administrative, or judicial proceedings
• A fast learner who is excited to be on the legal cutting edge
• Enjoys working collaboratively with a growing and multidisciplinary team
• Maryland barred or eligible to waive into the Maryland bar
• Significant experience in energy, environment, and public utility law, ideally 6+ years
• Experience appearing before the Maryland Public Service Commission; practice before FERC or other state utility commissions is also valued
• No book of business required; an existing client base is a bonus but not required
