[Hiring] Regulatory Lead Legal Counsel @Coinspaid

Role Description

• Lead regulatory legal support across payments and digital assets, with a focus on MiCA, PSD2, PSD3/PSR and related EU regulatory frameworks.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the Group’s products, services and operating model.
• Conduct regulatory gap assessments and lead the implementation of required legal and operational changes.
• Advise on new products, customer journeys, partnerships and business models from a regulatory perspective.
• Perform regulatory perimeter, licensing and market-entry assessments across relevant jurisdictions.
• Lead licensing and authorization projects, including preparation of applications and coordination of responses to regulatory authorities.
• Manage regulatory enquiries, inspections and requests for information.
• Develop and maintain regulatory positions, legal memoranda, internal guidance and implementation plans.
• Review the regulatory aspects of merchant, partner and outsourcing arrangements, as well as relevant data protection matters.
• Work closely with Compliance, AML, Risk, Product and Operations teams to ensure consistent implementation of regulatory requirements.
• Manage external legal counsel, including scope, deliverables, timelines and budget.
• Lead, review and prioritize the work of the regulatory legal team and support the professional development of team members.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of relevant experience gained within a law firm, Big Four advisory practice, financial institution, fintech or crypto business.
• Strong knowledge of the EU regulatory framework for payment services and digital assets, particularly MiCA, PSD2 and PSD3/PSR.
• Hands-on experience advising on regulatory licensing, market entry, new product launches and regulatory change projects.
• Proven ability to conduct regulatory impact and gap assessments and translate legal requirements into practical business solutions.
• Good understanding of related regulatory areas, including AML/CTF, DORA, outsourcing and data protection.
• Experience managing complex, cross-border workstreams and interacting with regulators, external counsel and senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop team members, review deliverables and manage competing priorities.
• Strong analytical, legal drafting and problem-solving skills, with a commercial and pragmatic approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
