Role Description
The Paralegal provides legal and administrative support to the Chief Legal Officer and assists with contracts, legal documents, regulatory communications, policy governance, and other legal and compliance-related activities. This role coordinates legal matters across the organization, maintains confidential information, supports communication with external counsel, and serves as a central resource for the organization's Policy & Procedure Committee.
Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field required.

Paralegal certificate from an accredited program preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years of paralegal, legal operations, contract administration, healthcare administration, or related experience.

Healthcare, managed care, corporate, regulatory, or in-house legal department experience strongly preferred.

Experience reviewing contracts, policies, regulatory correspondence, or other legal documents preferred.

Strong organizational and document-management skills.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies or missing information in documents.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.

Strong follow-up skills and ability to coordinate assignments across multiple departments.

Ability to review and understand contracts, policies, procedures, regulatory correspondence, and other formal documents.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and document-management systems.

Ability to work independently while recognizing matters requiring escalation to the Chief Legal Officer.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally with senior leadership, external counsel, regulators, providers, vendors, and employees.
Requirements

Assist the Chief Legal Officer with the review, preparation, organization, and tracking of contracts, agreements, amendments, and other legal documents.

Perform initial reviews of contracts and legal documents to identify missing information, inconsistencies, required approvals, renewal dates, and other items requiring legal review.

Maintain organized contract and legal document files and tracking systems.

Coordinate the routing of agreements for internal review, approval, signature, and final execution.

Monitor contract expiration, renewal, termination, and other important dates as assigned.

Handle sensitive and confidential information with a high level of discretion.

Assist with legal research and preparation of summaries or supporting documentation as requested by the Chief Legal Officer.

Serve as a point of contact for routine administrative communications with external attorneys and law firms under the direction of the Chief Legal Officer.

Coordinate requests for documents, information, meetings, and other materials needed by external counsel.

Track outstanding legal requests and follow up with internal departments to ensure timely responses.

Assist with maintaining records of legal matters handled by outside counsel, including litigation matters.

Coordinate legal invoices and supporting documentation as assigned.

Assist in reviewing regulatory and legally sensitive communications before distribution.

Review letters and notices to participants, providers, employees, vendors, and other parties for consistency, completeness, appropriate language, and alignment with approved templates and requirements.

Coordinate revisions with responsible departments and the Chief Legal Officer when legal review is required.

Maintain approved templates and ensure current versions are available to applicable departments.

Assist with responses to regulatory agencies, subpoenas, legal requests, and other formal correspondence as directed by the Chief Legal Officer.

Assist with preparation and distribution of Board of Directors packets on a quarterly basis.

Coordinate the organization's policy and procedure review and approval process.

Serve as the primary administrative point of contact for the Policy & Procedure Committee.

Coordinate Policy & Procedure Committee meetings, agendas, materials, approvals, and follow-up activities.

Review policies and procedures for appropriate formatting, consistency, required sections, responsible parties, review dates, and approval requirements.

Work with department leaders to ensure policies are reviewed and updated within established timeframes.

Maintain the organization's policy inventory and monitor policies approaching their required review or expiration dates.

Ensure approved policies are appropriately documented, maintained, and communicated.

Assist departments with questions regarding the policy review and approval process.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Benefits

Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 for 2 β 4 years of paralegal experience.

Salary Range: $85,100.00 - $90,000.00 for 5+ years of paralegal experience.
Physical Requirements
