Role Description
The Associate General Counsel, Healthcare Products serves as a strategic legal advisor to Getinge's Business Areas and functional teams in North America supporting the development, manufacture, regulatory compliance, lifecycle management and commercialization of medical technology products. The role partners closely with stakeholders across various functions to provide practical legal advice throughout the product lifecycle. The Associate General Counsel also contributes to the Legal Department's continued adoption of technology-enabled legal service delivery.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

Provide legal advice to Getinge's product area leadership and functional stakeholders in North America regarding legal, regulatory and contractual issues.

Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of agreements supporting Getinge's product areas, including:

Development agreements

Clinical and research agreements

Technology and software agreements
-
Supply and manufacturing agreements
-
Quality agreements
-
Distribution agreements
-
Strategic collaboration agreements

Support research and development, engineering, product management and innovation teams with respect to new product development and strategic initiatives.

Support sourcing and procurement teams regarding transactions and transformative initiatives.

Advise stakeholders regarding legal issues arising under various regulations impacting the medical technology industry.

Partner with sales leadership to structure and negotiate customer transactions and commercial programs.

Advise marketing and commercial operations regarding promotional materials and strategies.

Support strategic transactions, acquisitions, integrations, product launches, and technology partnerships.

Collaborate with stakeholders across various functions to identify and manage legal and business risks.

Support development of legal department standards, templates, playbooks, workflows and self-service tools.

Contribute to the adoption and advancement of legal technology solutions.

Maintain Getinge's high standards for ethical behavior and compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies.

Exercise sound judgment regarding escalation of legal issues and development of practical, business-oriented solutions.
Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of relevant legal experience, including significant law firm and/or in-house experience.

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from accredited program and active admission to at least one US state bar.

Deep experience in drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide variety of complex and routine commercial agreements.

Experience with ELM and AI tools to enhance and streamline the provision of in-house legal services.

Familiarity with providing legal advice in a highly regulated business (e.g., FDCA, AKS, FCA and HIPAA).
