[Hiring] Assistant General Counsel @TRM Labs

Role Description

As Assistant General Counsel, Commercial and GTM Partnerships, you’ll be a key leader of TRM’s Legal team, which The Financial Times recently named one of the “Most Innovative In-House Legal Teams in North America.” You’ll partner closely with Go‑To‑Market, Product, Engineering, Operations, and leadership. You will own complex commercial negotiations, guide product development, and design scalable, AI‑assisted legal workflows.

AI Fluency is a Core Requirement at TRM-Legal:

• Active use of generative AI tools in daily workflow.
• Demonstrated fluency and sound judgment about when to deploy AI.
• Track record of building or improving AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of legal experience with a strong mix of top‑tier law firm and in‑house work.
• Significant experience negotiating complex B2B technology agreements.
• Comfort advising on AI and data issues.
• Familiarity with public sector procurement and bank/vendor risk processes is a strong plus.
• Ability to manage a high volume of matters and balance competing priorities.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
• J.D. (or international equivalent) and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Requirements

• Demonstrated comfort using AI tools for drafting, summarization, research, and workflow design.
• Ability to explain complex issues clearly to non‑lawyers.
• High ownership, low ego.
