[Hiring] Subject Matter Expert: IT @JBS International

Role Description

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) II will be responsible for positioning JBS to be the “go to” company for digital transformation and IT operations solutions within the health and social services sectors. This role requires strategic vision, operational excellence, and a deep understanding of digital technology, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and federal contracting processes and regulations. The SME II will provide expertise and guidance to JBS technology teams, ensure compliance with federal guidelines, and help drive performance to meet contract deliverables, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.

NOTE: This is an on-call position. Schedules will vary from week to week.

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide expertise and guidance on the management of digital transformation and IT operations projects for government, agencies, or other organizations.
• Participate in strategic planning, process and performance improvement, IT service management, and change management initiatives.
• Contribute to the design and management of IT operations and performance management processes ensuring compliance with federal requirements and industry best practices.
• Assess and manage project risks related to IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud operations.
• Review and approve project deliverables, ensuring technical excellence in written and verbal communications and solutions.
• Participate in meetings, provide up-to-date information about industry trends, emerging technologies, and policies; offer recommendations regarding innovative IT solutions for clients and staff.
• Assist with budget estimates and innovative ideas to help ensure all allocated funds are spent appropriately and provide value to JBS clients.
• Provide expert review of technical deliverables, including infrastructure strategies, cybersecurity plans, cloud solutions, disaster recovery frameworks, and service management reports.
• Support professional growth for JBS technology teams, helping to leverage individual strengths and maximize each person's contributions.
• Collaborate with other SMEs and leadership to support the exchange of IT knowledge across JBS projects.
• Contribute to program development and thought leadership, including workgroups, advisory boards, and development of content for Centers of Excellence meetings.
• Research potential new business opportunities including funding agency background, fit with JBS, and current incumbents.
• Contribute to proposal writing and development with a focus on digital transformation and IT operations solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Digital Technology, or a relevant field.
• English Fluency (oral and written).
• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in related fields, including digital transformation, IT operations, and infrastructure management.
• Substantive subject matter expertise in digital transformation, IT operations, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
• Knowledge of government contracting and related performance expectations.
• A solid grasp of data analysis, performance metrics, and IT service management frameworks such as ITIL.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Sustained expertise maintaining professional knowledge in content areas, identifying trends, emerging issues, and evidence-based practices, and sharing them with staff and clients.
• Demonstrated expertise and experience managing budgets and leading IT projects delivering infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud solutions to the government or other organizations.
• Interacts well with others in a positive, courteous, and professional manner; functions well as a team member and is also able to work independently.
• Honors, respects, and celebrates cultural differences.
• Effective, clear, and professional writing and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail.

Requirements

• Location: Remote.
• Security Clearance: May vary with assignment.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk or computer workstation.
• Regularly uses a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
• Normal or corrected vision to read documents, view computer screens, and perform tasks that require visual accuracy.
• Ability to hear and understand spoken information in person and over the phone.
• Minimal lifting and carrying may be required, typically light office supplies or documents.
• Ability to move within the office environment to access equipment, files, and interact with colleagues.
• Ability to handle occasional stress related to deadlines, workloads, or challenging tasks.
