[Hiring] Payroll Manager @AVS Bio

Role Description

We are seeking a hands-on Payroll Manager to oversee all payroll operations for approximately 300 employees across the United States and Europe. This role will own the payroll function end-to-end, including:

• Payroll processing
• Compliance
• Payroll accounting
• Reporting
• System enhancements

The ideal candidate will bring strong multi-state payroll expertise, experience supporting international employees, and a proven track record with payroll system implementations. Experience with NetSuite is required, while Paylocity experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including ownership of payroll processing
• Strong experience managing multi-state payroll environments
• Experience supporting international payroll, preferably within Europe
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite is required
• Paylocity experience strongly preferred
• Experience leading or participating in payroll system implementations, upgrades, or conversions
• Solid understanding of payroll accounting, payroll tax compliance, and reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills and strong reporting capabilities
• CPP designation is a plus
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage confidential information

Requirements

• Own end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 300 employees across the U.S. and Europe
• Manage complex multi-state payroll compliance and payroll tax requirements
• Prepare payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and support month-end close activities
• Serve as the primary payroll resource for employees, HR, and Finance
• Lead or support payroll system implementations, upgrades, conversions, and integrations
• Partner with HR, IT, and Finance to improve payroll processes, reporting, controls, and automation
• Coordinate international payroll activities and support a small European employee population
• Process bonuses, commissions, benefit deductions, garnishments, and other payroll adjustments
• Support payroll tax filings, W-2 processing, year-end reporting, and audit requests
• Maintain payroll data integrity and resolve payroll discrepancies
