3wks ago - Canada Gold is hiring a remote Human Resources Generalist. 💸 Salary: unspecified 📍Location: Northern America

Role Description

We’re looking for a full-time Human Resources Generalist to join our growing Human Resources team. This is a remote position based in the West Coast, supporting employees and managers across Canada Gold’s West Coast and U.S. operations. This is a hands-on HR role with a strong emphasis on recruitment, along with employee support, onboarding and offboarding, leave administration, HRIS management, benefits coordination, employee records, and general HR administration.

You’ll work closely with the Director, People and Culture and Human Resources team to help ensure our people processes are consistent, accurate, and responsive across our growing organization. You’ll also serve as an important first point of contact for employees and managers, helping answer routine HR questions and ensuring more complex or sensitive matters are appropriately escalated. With Canada Gold continuing to expand, this is a great opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys recruitment while also wanting broad exposure across the employee lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for retail and support positions across Canada and the U.S.
  • Create job postings, source candidates, review applications, conduct candidate screening, and coordinate interviews.
  • Prepare approved offers and maintain accurate candidate tracking and recruitment reporting.
  • Provide day-to-day HR support to West Coast employees and managers, answering routine questions about policies, benefits, leaves, and HR processes.
  • Coordinate onboarding, orientation, probationary check-ins, and offboarding administration.
  • Apply established HR policies and help employees and managers understand routine HR processes.
  • Process routine leave requests and maintain accurate leave records.
  • Coordinate accommodation and return-to-work documentation while ensuring confidentiality and timely follow-up.
  • Coordinate benefits enrolment, employee changes, and payroll inputs with payroll and benefits partners.
  • Maintain accurate employee files, employment agreements, and HRIS records.
  • Process and maintain records related to hires, transfers, compensation changes, and employee departures.
  • Regularly review HRIS and employee information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate employee communications, training logistics, engagement activities, and workplace health and safety records.
  • Prepare routine HR reports related to headcount, recruitment, turnover, and attendance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR administrative processes and support HR initiatives.
  • Recognize and appropriately escalate complex employee relations, compliance, policy, or other higher-risk matters to the Director, People and Culture.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated HR Generalist experience across areas such as recruitment, employee support, onboarding, leave administration, and employee records.
  • Experience recruiting and supporting employees across multiple locations.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian employment standards, privacy requirements, and general HR practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
  • Experience working with HRIS and applicant tracking systems, spreadsheets, and workforce reporting.
  • Strong judgment and an ability to recognize when an HR matter requires additional guidance or escalation.
  • Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential employee information.
  • A practical, approachable, and service-oriented approach to supporting employees and managers.

Considered an asset:

  • Professional HR designation or progress toward one.
  • Previous experience supporting a retail or multi-location organization.
  • Experience recruiting for both high-volume and specialized positions.
  • Experience with U.S. recruitment or HR practices.
  • Knowledge of U.S. employment practices.

Benefits

  • Full-time position.
  • Comprehensive medical and dental benefits.
  • Remote work environment.
  • Hands-on experience supporting employees and managers across multiple locations.
  • A significant role in recruitment as Canada Gold continues to expand.
  • Exposure to both Canadian and U.S. recruitment and HR operations.
  • Opportunities to broaden your experience across multiple areas of Human Resources.
  • A supportive HR team with opportunities to take ownership of your work and continue developing professionally.
  • Opportunities for continued growth and advancement within the organization.

Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.
  • Availability to support employees during Pacific Time business hours.
  • Remote position based in the West Coast area.
  • Some travel to regional locations may be required.

Why Join Canada Gold?

This is an opportunity to take on a broad HR Generalist position while playing a significant role in the continued growth of Canada Gold. You’ll have the opportunity to lead recruitment for a variety of positions while also building experience across employee support, onboarding, HR administration, benefits, leaves, reporting, and employee programs. You’ll work closely with the Director, People and Culture while having ownership over many of the day-to-day HR needs of our West Coast operations.

If you enjoy recruitment, working directly with employees and managers, solving problems, and being part of a growing multi-location organization, we’d love to hear from you.
