Role Description

The HR Operations Manager is a proactive, strategic leader who builds effective systems, develops people, leverages data to drive decisions, and delivers high-quality operational outcomes. They anticipate risks, solve root-cause issues, create accountability, and continuously improve services while serving as a trusted advisor and role model for excellence, collaboration, and leadership.

Job Responsibilities

• People Planning and Performance:
  • Provides work direction to staff aligned with the tactical and strategic objectives of the department.
  • Elevates team members' thinking and understanding of the field by infusing best practice knowledge into the work.
  • Manages the selection, development, and coaching of team members.
  • Ensures that job requirements and goals for each position are clear to employees.
  • Effectively communicates and ensures understanding of Medical Center initiatives, priorities, standards, and policies.
• Team Leadership:
  • Provides leadership to team members in completion of initiatives, projects, or programs.
  • Collaborates with appropriate teams or individuals to plan, implement, and/or evaluate services.
• Program Management:
  • Understands the business and operational functions supported by HR.
  • Keeps up to date on business operational practices to inform HR operations strategies and decisions.
  • Designs, develops, and implements policies and procedures to support the single point of contact model for clients.
  • Increases the efficiency of the department and ensures compliance with CCHMC policies and procedures.
  • Partners with the HRIS Team to automate processes wherever possible.
  • Serves as an expert resource to managers and employees about human resource programs.
  • Develops, maintains, and delivers effective communications to managers and employees.
  • Consults with HR staff and managers and provides guidance.
  • Coordinates and participates in educational training and updates for Human Resources staff.
• Financial Management:
  • Assists with fiscal responsibilities of the department as requested.
  • Monitors budget expenditures; identifies and researches variances/problems.
  • Assists in tracking and monitoring expenses and allocations.
  • Provides applicable reports.
  • Researches information for major purchases.
  • May assist with annual budget preparation.
• Compliance:
  • Ensures consistent human resource policy application, review, and implementation consistent with organizational strategy and direction.
  • Analyzes trends, recommends, and implements solutions to human resource issues.
  • Monitors and ensures consistency of employment-related practices organization-wide.
  • Maintains current knowledge of laws and regulations related to human resource management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 5+ years of work experience in a related job discipline

Benefits

• Expected Starting Pay Range: $94,036.80 - $120,078.40
• Starting pay is based on experience, skills, and equity; exceptions may apply for highly qualified candidates.
• Additional pay (e.g., shift, on-call, or weekend differentials) and benefits may apply.
• Annual pay may vary based on FTE status.
