[Hiring] Global HR Operations & Compliance Lead @Overview Corporation

Role Description

Overview is scaling teams across North America, APAC, and Europe. Our HR foundation needs to keep pace: compliance across every country we operate in, and processes that scale instead of being rebuilt every time we grow. This is a hands-on Lead role. You will:

• Diagnose and fix compliance gaps.
• Own HR for our China team.
• Build the programs that make global HR run cleanly.

This position is a high-level, high-impact, hands-on role managing a small team of 1-2 direct reports (China and Taiwan) where you will have ownership and the creativity to develop a world-class HR function from the ground up. You will report into our Head of Global Recruiting. This role requires between 15% and 40% travel depending on your location. If you are located near our HQ in San Francisco and work hybrid, you will only be required to travel 15% of the time.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in HR, with hands-on ownership of compliance and HR operations.
• Direct China HR experience, including labor contracts, social insurance and housing fund, and local labor law.
• Global HR compliance across multiple countries, including employment law, contracts, and statutory benefits.
• US HR compliance across federal and multi-state requirements.
• Has built HR processes or programs from scratch at a scaling company.
• Operates as a hands-on executor, not just an advisor.
• Works effectively across time zones with teams in Asia and Europe.

Requirements

• Strong Preferences:
• HR experience across APAC beyond China (for example Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan, Korea).
• EMEA HR compliance experience.
• Experience with EOR and PEO models and entity setup decisions.
• Mandarin proficiency.
• Background in manufacturing, hardware, or companies with employees deployed on customer sites.
