Role Description

Come join our team! The Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department is currently seeking applicants to fill two (2) 1,000 Hour Service Aides (Service Aide G) positions, grade G01, in the Human Resources Division.

This is an entry level clerical position designed to support Management and staff. Good judgment and discretion are essential, along with the ability to lift 30 lbs. Under close supervision, the incumbent will perform routine to moderately difficult clerical responsibilities. This position is part time, temporary and caps at 1,000 working hours.

Examples of Work

• Performs accurate data entry utilizing computers and other data entry mechanisms without errors and revisions.
• Assists in job related data entry functions with minimum supervision as instructed by manager.
• Inventories supplies; informs when supplies need ordering.
• Receives telephone calls to schedule appointments.
• Responds to emails and inquiries to schedule appointments and correspondences.
• Assists with Community Outreach events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• EACH APPLICANT MUST INCLUDE INFORMATION THAT CLEARLY DEMONSTRATES THE ABOVE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION.

Requirements

• Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency.
• Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of their assigned duties, if applicable.
• Successfully pass public safety preemployment checks which may include reference checks, background investigations, and drug screenings.
• Be willing and able to serve as an essential employee.
