General Purpose The Lead Benefits Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. This role involves leading a team of benefits specialists, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and providing strategic recommendations to enhance the benefits offerings. The Lead Benefits Specialist acts as a subject matter expert on all lines of benefits and plays a key role in employee communication and education. Essential Duties Act as a subject matter expert regarding all lines of benefits, providing detailed information and guidance to employees and management. Oversee, administer, and communicate the organization’s benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks. Lead and mentor a team of benefits specialists, providing guidance and support. Research and analyze benefits plans, programs, and policies to provide strategic recommendations for changes and improvements. Ensure benefits programs are compliant with legal requirements. Coordinate and conduct employee information presentations, enrollments, and other related educational sessions regarding benefits programs. Process benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations in a timely and accurate manner. Assist employees with benefits-related issues and questions, providing excellent customer service. Manage and process claims, invoices, and resolve administrative problems with carrier representatives. Collaborate with insurance providers, benefits vendors, and HRIS vendors to ensure smooth operations. Perform regular audits of benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Prepare and compile reports on benefits usage, costs, and trends for management review. Qualification Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 4-7 years of experience in benefits administration or a related role. Language Skills Must have strong written and verbal communication skills Bilingual Spanish/English preferred Interpersonal Communication Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent research and analytical skills. Effective organizational and time management skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Comprehensive knowledge of employee benefits and relevant laws.
