Role Description

This role involves overseeing the operational functioning of the facility and ensuring quality care is provided.

  • Participate in discharge planning, development, and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments.
  • Monitor census on a daily basis.
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility’s programs and activities.
  • Formulate and monitor the facility’s budget and performance to facilitate financial health.
  • Oversee the adoption of policies, procedures, and professional standards of practice.
  • Hold direct reports accountable and act as a role model for the facility’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Ensure all employees, residents, and families are treated with love and respect.
  • Be involved in community groups and maintain relationships with local hospital leadership and key community leaders.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes applicable to the facility’s operations.
  • Understand staffing level requirements and facilitate compliance.
  • Monitor and direct execution of policy and procedural changes.
  • Resolve HR issues and Risk Management situations within the facility.
  • Oversee capital improvements and maintain a good reputation within the industry and community.
  • Develop strong relationships with PACS support teams (HR/Therapy/Clinical/Finance, etc.).
  • Responsible for contract negotiations with vendors.
  • Support Clinical efforts by understanding QA measures and holding personnel accountable.
  • Keep abreast of the facility’s collections and A/R on a daily basis.
  • Develop and execute creative ideas to increase employee engagement and reduce turnover.
  • Review Quality Measures with the facility’s clinical leadership regularly.
  • Participate in responding to state and federal healthcare surveys/inspections.
  • Conduct daily meetings with staff during facility inspections to discuss survey findings and formulate plans of action.
  • Review deficiencies noted during the exit conference and address concerns expressed by surveyors.
  • Assist in developing plans of correction for cited deficiencies, incorporating timetables and methods of monitoring.
  • Manage and oversee multiple levels of employees, including hiring, training, budgeting, appraising performance, and resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university, or equivalent.
  • Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products.
  • Must maintain licensing credentials for an Administrator.
