Role Description

The United Nations World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger. WFP’s HR Technology and Analytics Branch (HRMOI) powers the digital backbone of HR, delivering smart tools, data, and strategy to streamline processes, drive decisions, and elevate experience.

HRMOI leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of the HR technology strategy and roadmap, ensuring streamlined, effective, and compliant HR processes across the organization. It provides data, analytics, and digital tools to employees, managers, executives, HR practitioners, and external partners β€” supporting evidence-based decision-making, improving productivity, and enhancing employee and customer experience.

The HRMOI Branch consists of six workstreams:

  • Payroll, time & audit systems
  • Talent, learning & recruiting systems
  • People analytics & reporting
  • Organization, positions & security
  • HR capabilities, system adoption & experience
  • HR technology implementations

This position is under the overall supervision of the Head of Payroll, time & audit systems, and the direct supervision of the Professional HR Officer in the Systems Administration & Support (SAS) Team. Under guidance of Professional HR Officer this position takes part in the business support of the local stream team as follows:

  • Provide guidance to HR users worldwide in the correct use of HR systems (Workday/WINGS) by responding to queries/issues received and ensuring correct understanding and resolution in compliance with relevant policies, processes and procedures.
  • Liaise with UNDP for monitoring data accuracy and ensure correctness of payroll data.
  • Liaise with HR field colleagues regarding documentation of HR processes and systems including support the capacity building of the user community and contribute to the preparation and delivery of guidelines and training sessions.
  • Support the monthly payroll activities for locally recruited employees including WIGSI program, OTP file upload.
  • Compile, review and analyze a variety of data on locally recruited field employees to support the data cleansing to enable informed decision-making and effectiveness of HR services.
  • Analyze system errors and liaise with TEC counterpart to seek solutions or identify workaround solutions if required.
  • Contribute to the effective functioning and testing of the payroll interfaces between WFP and UNDP systems, and Workday to WINGS interface for local staff.
  • Provide support to the SAS team when needed, in compliance with relevant processes and procedures, including drafting Business Requirements documentation, testing, and validating IT solutions.
  • Monitor/Follow up incoming queries/issues related to Time management in WFP HR systems through the dedicated ticketing systems.
  • Provide guidance to HR users worldwide in the correct use of HR systems for Time management related processes.
  • Respond to queries/issues received by ensuring resolution in compliance with Time management related processes and procedures and full auditability.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Computer engineering or related field.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of progressively responsible work experience in general administrative work, including at least one year in human resources in an international context.
  • Work experience in HR systems administration and support would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of UN business processes, practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret HR rules, regulations and data.
  • Previous experience in HR Operations and working with SAP HR modules and Workday is an asset.
  • Experience in customer service support.
  • Good analytical and computer skills (advanced level of Excel is an asset).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of HR principles and their application in order to respond to and resolve a range of HR queries.
  • Ability to build relationships with a variety of individuals across functions and outside WFP in order to effectively contribute to the functioning of the unit.
  • Fluency in oral and written English and an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
