Role Description

Our client, a forward-thinking organization within the financial services and fintech sectors, is seeking a seasoned Senior Trader to join their team remotely from Gauteng. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape trading strategies, negotiate with top industry counterparts, and enhance client relationships, all while working within a company committed to innovation and excellence.

• Take full ownership of trading revenue and volume targets across forex and arbitrage.
• Drive growth through strategic trading initiatives.
• Negotiate with counterparties, OTC desks, and liquidity providers.
• Build and develop client relationships to increase trading volumes.
• Monitor markets including USD/ZAR, global FX, crypto, macroeconomic data, and regulatory updates.
• Write and contribute to market updates and newsletters.
• Adjust trading strategies based on evolving market conditions.
• Support and motivate junior traders to improve team performance.
• Monitor cryptocurrency price differentials between offshore and local exchanges.
• Execute crypto transactions and record trading activities.
• Collaborate with account managers to provide forex quotes and meet client needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years trading experience in forex, crypto, or financial markets.
• Proven success in increasing trading revenue and volumes.
• Strong negotiation skills paired with a sales-driven approach.
• Excellent written communication skills, including market commentary.
• Deep understanding of FX and crypto markets.
• Skills in negotiation, analysis, client relationship management, and development.
• Solid forex trading knowledge.
• Familiarity with the following is advantageous:
• Market analysis tools and trading platforms.
• Regulatory compliance in financial markets.
