Role Description

Bring together client advisory, people leadership and commercial judgement in a fully remote Senior Manager position. Take responsibility for complex engagements, develop accountants and work closely with Partners on the continued growth of an established accounting and advisory firm. The position offers a voice in decisions about client service, business development and how work is delivered. A structured pathway to partnership is available for high-performing individuals.

Lead client relationships and engagement delivery while helping accountants produce accurate, timely and commercially useful work. Responsibilities include:

• Managing a client portfolio and acting as the primary contact for tax and business advisory matters
• Advising on business structuring, tax planning and compliance
• Leading advisory engagements covering forecasting, cash flow management and business growth strategies
• Reviewing financial statements and tax returns across companies, trusts, partnerships, superannuation funds and high-net-worth individuals
• Researching complex tax issues and communicating practical recommendations
• Managing workflow, deadlines and technical quality across engagements
• Coaching accountants through constructive feedback, technical guidance and clear expectations
• Maintaining effective communication and collaboration across a dispersed team
• Working with Partners on strategic priorities and practice growth
• Developing client relationships, identifying additional service needs and contributing to referrals and networking
• Improving processes and evaluating technology and automation opportunities

Qualifications

• Completed CA or CPA qualification
• At least five years’ experience in a senior accounting or advisory role
• Strong Australian public practice experience across business services and tax
• Deep knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and complex engagements
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing accountants
• Confidence translating technical issues into clear, commercially relevant advice
• Strong workflow management, communication and professional judgement
• Business development capability and an ability to identify advisory opportunities
• Confidence using accounting software and modern collaboration tools
• Ability to lead people and maintain client relationships effectively in a remote environment
• Experience advising SMEs and high-net-worth individuals, preparing technical advice and improving engagement processes will be highly regarded.
• Applicants must currently reside in Australia and hold Australian working rights.
