Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, ideally with a CPA qualification or progress toward CPA qualification

At least 3 to 5 years of experience in Australian accounting

Strong understanding of Australian tax laws and financial accounts

Experience with Australian accounting systems, with strong Xero knowledge required

Experience with general ledger functions

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Apps

Strong analytical and numerical skills

High level of attention to detail

High level of integrity and strong work ethic

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Requirements

Maintain accurate records of financial transactions

Check and verify financial data

Prepare budget forecasts

Perform other bookkeeping and reporting duties as required

Conduct bank reconciliations
-
Analyze and investigate annual and monthly financial accounts and make necessary adjustments

Protect financial data confidentiality, conduct regular database checks, and complete regular data backups

Perform financial administration duties
-
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
-
Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting and procedural standards

Report to management on the company's financial position and performance

Assist with tax calculations and ensure compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements when required

Assist with the onboarding of new clients
