[Hiring] Portfolio Manager @R2

Role Description

R2 is looking for a Portfolio Manager (IC4) to own the credit portfolio. This role involves building a quantitative relationship with the business, tracking portfolio performance end to end, and evaluating high-ticket merchant credit.

• Own monitoring the credit portfolio: vintages, losses, originations, NPL by cohort, and profitability.
• Evaluate and underwrite high-ticket merchant credit facilities (tickets of USD 100K–200K and above), at scale.
• Define and track business metrics: loss, yield/profitability, portfolio construction and health.
• Work hands-on in SQL to extract, structure, and analyze portfolio data independently.
• Apply statistical reasoning to portfolio questions.
• Partner closely with the business team and handle a degree of client interaction.
• Generate findings and transform them into presentations for a larger audience.
• Automate monitoring KPIs of this portfolio.

Qualifications

• ~7 years of experience in credit, lending, credit risk, business analytics, or lending institution.
• Background in a fintech, payment processor, POS provider, or bank, with real lending/credit exposure.
• Hands-on underwriting experience, ideally with large/high-ticket merchant credit.
• Strong data analysis skills in SQL and/or Python.
• Statistical/data literacy; comfortable with the fundamentals of statistics and data analysis.
• Comfort using AI tools is a plus.
• Cultural fit: thrives in a dynamic, startup-style environment.
• Prior experience working with US or LatAm teams is a strong plus.

Requirements

• Experience underwriting corporate/B2B cards with high limits (e.g., USD 1M+) is a bonus.
• Traditional/corporate backgrounds (including large banks) are welcome, provided the credit/lending experience and cultural fit are there.
