You'll own core payroll operations and provide day-to-day HR support, while staying open to jumping in on whatever else the Finance and Accounting team needs. We're looking for someone who takes genuine satisfaction in being helpful, picking up new tools, and growing their skill set along the way.
What You'll Do
-
Payroll processing:
-
Enter, maintain, and process payroll data including hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, time worked, PTO, deductions, withholdings, and employee information updates.
-
Ensure accurate processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.
-
Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
-
Issue or reissue checks and direct deposits to resolve payroll errors or process final pay.
-
Generate records and process federal and state payroll tax deposits and reports.
-
Support to HR:
-
Assist with onboarding and offboarding, maintain accurate employee records, support benefits administration, and serve as a friendly first point of contact for employee questions.
-

-
Build and maintain advanced Excel models and reports (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formula-driven reconciliations) to support payroll accuracy and Finance reporting.
-
Beyond payroll:
-
Enjoy helping out across the Finance and Accounting department, and be open to learning new duties and taking on additional projects as they come up.
-
Preference to candidates who in addition to payroll have performed tasks related to AP invoice posting, expense report reimbursements, G/L entries, fixed assets, etc.
Qualifications
-
Solid knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, payroll taxes, and internal controls.
-
Comfort supporting HR tasks such as onboarding, recordkeeping, and employee questions.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Excellent organizational skills and sharp attention to detail.

A high degree of professionalism and sound judgment handling confidential information.
-
Strong interpersonal skills β comfortable communicating with employees at all levels and building good working relationships across the team.
-
Reliable under pressure β proven ability to meet deadlines and stay organized while handling changing tasks and shifting priorities.
-
A genuine, can-do enthusiasm for pitching in wherever needed and learning new areas of Finance and Accounting.
Requirements
-
Associate's degree preferred; equivalent postsecondary education considered.
-
3+ years working with a major payroll software platform (e.g., Paylocity, Paycor, or ADP), processing payroll for 100+ employees.
-
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus, but not required.
Benefits
-
100% work from home β this is a fully remote position.
-
Must be available and working East Coast (Eastern Time) business hours.
-
Health insurance, PTO, 401K β eligible starting on your date of hire, with no waiting period.
