[Hiring] Part-Time Bookkeeper @VCM Bookkeeping

Role Description

You’ll manage the day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of small business and high-net-worth clients. You will turn each client’s QuickBooks Online file into clean, accurate, CPA-ready financials while building an understanding of their business, goals, and preferences.

This role combines technical bookkeeping skills with thoughtful client service. You will:

• Identify issues and recommend solutions
• Draft clear client communications
• Help improve processes as our firm grows

Precision matters: our standard is zero errors reaching CPA review.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience supporting small businesses
• Substantial hands-on experience in QuickBooks Online
• Deep understanding of bookkeeping and accounting methods, including double-entry bookkeeping and both cash and accrual accounting
• Experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace, especially Excel and Sheets
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong written skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly and professionally to clients
• Someone who embraces technology and enjoys learning new software
• Experience reviewing bookkeeping work or mentoring others is a plus
• Bonus points for experience with sales tax tracking and reporting

Benefits

• $37/hour
• Fully remote W-2 position with paid sick leave and paid vacation
• Part time, approximately 50-60 hours per month with the opportunity for additional hours as the firm grows
• Flexible schedule: we care more about meeting deadlines and serving clients well than when you choose to complete your work
• Occasional availability outside of standard business hours may be needed to support and train junior staff
