Role Description
Our client, the Montgomery County Government, is looking for an Insurance/Risk Management Analyst. Work schedule is Remote.
The Department of Finance requires a full-time Contractor to assist the Insurance Manager and the Risk Management (RM) Division Chief with Insurance Section activity tasks and related items.

Assist with analyzing and evaluating contract scopes of service to recommend appropriate insurance requirements and critical terms and conditions for Montgomery County Self Insurance Program (MCSIP) members.

Ensure that Certificates of Insurance (both issued and received) and all related endorsements comply with established requirements.

Skill in oral and written communication to multiple audiences and organizations.

Solid negotiating skills.

Familiarity with, knowledge of, and the ability to understand commercial insurance coverage.

Ability to analyze scopes of work and contracts for exposures to develop insurance requirements for contracts and other legal agreements.

Understanding of compliance with insurance requirements and certificates of insurance.

Understanding of indemnity provisions in contractual agreements.

Strong customer-service focus with significant interaction with both inside and outside colleagues.

Ability to attend meetings or perform work at locations outside the office as deemed operationally necessary.

Contract staff will work side-by-side with County staff to facilitate knowledge transfer.

Contract staff will report directly to Vinita Amin, Insurance Manager, with dotted line reporting to Sam Mynatt, Chief of the Division of Risk Management.

The County reserves the right to terminate this Task Order at any time in accordance with contract terms.

The Department of Finance reserves the right to review and make final decisions as it pertains to staff and their replacement.
Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelorβs Degree.

Preference for candidates with a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in an insurance agency, brokerage, or underwriting position, or contract legal work.
