Role Description
ClassDojo is looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial, and high-energy leader to oversee and scale all aspects of the Company’s accounting and tax operations and strategy, with an opportunity to own additional related areas such as procurement.

Build and scale financial systems, processes, and policies to support the financial health and efficient scaling of the business.

Oversee the company’s monthly close process, annual audits, financial reporting, and overall control processes.

Generate utmost confidence in the quality of financial reports and processes both internally and externally.

Manage the in-house accounting team and external consultants in various accounting functions.

Partner with stakeholders across the organization, including leaders across business units and functional leaders.

Support the CFO and other executives across a range of strategic initiatives, including M&A, fundraising, secondary transactions, and potentially a future IPO.
Qualifications

12+ years of experience, with 3+ years at a top-tier audit firm and 8+ years in-house accounting at fast-growing startups.

Experience building and retaining an accounting team of meaningful scale and complexity.

Designed and managed full-cycle accounting close and operations, including tax, treasury, payroll, and equity administration.

Led accounting teams through multiple clean audits with Big Four firms.

Applied knowledge of US GAAP to complex business transactions.

Proven track record of scaling finance operations through major process or systems overhauls.

Oversaw global indirect tax compliance, including US sales tax and international VAT/GST.
