Role Description

Reporting directly to the Head of Financial Management and having close working relationships with the Associate Director of Operations, the role involves:

• Providing high-level financial support and leadership in relation to complex financial issues.
• Leading the finance team and ensuring all members develop to their full potential.
• Supporting the Head of Financial Management and Financial Controller in the submission of statutory returns to external organisations.
• Providing expert financial and commercial advice to support the organisation.
• Assisting in the development and preparation of finance reports for management decisions.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with post-qualification experience in a financial management environment.
• Experience in the development of Business Cases.

Requirements

• Coordination of the annual budget setting process across the Division.
• Planning and production of detailed financial information in accordance with agreed monthly timetables.
• Review and analysis of the Trust's financial position.
• Provision of accurate and timely complex information to various internal and external stakeholders.
• Assisting in the development of operational plans assessing implications on income and costs.
• Advising Clinical Directors and management teams on financial strategy and policy.
• Providing professional financial advice and leadership to ensure services are delivered within financial targets.
• Supporting budget holders in identifying and evidencing cost-effectiveness of services.
• Communicating with all levels of staff within the Finance Department and the wider Trust.
• Supporting Divisional Managers in capital equipment replacement needs and proposals for capital expenditure.
• Utilising information systems to create standard and ad hoc reports.
• Reviewing business processes to identify and implement improvements.
• Seeking continuous improvement and developing innovative financial and business techniques.
