[Hiring] Competency Assessor @Quilter

Role Description

Our Remote Competency Assessor will be responsible for completing competency assessment meetings remotely across our adviser population, using our in-house technology, identifying any development areas, and progressing these through appropriate action plans.

• Use knowledge and experience in day-to-day role; cross-functional worker pulling on information from all areas of the business.
• Explain and enforce the oversight contract with Appointed Representatives and Registered Individuals detailing requirements, methods of assessment used, and timescales to be applied.
• Educate Appointed Representatives and Registered Individuals on compliance requirements, “Treating Customers Fairly” responsibilities, and achieving Good Customer Outcomes.
• Deliver the risk assessment regime to Appointed Representatives and Registered Individuals; assess skills, competencies, and knowledge required to maintain competence.
• Conduct Adviser Reviews: complete reports, provide coaching and feedback, identify risks, and escalate any identified failings to the Firm Compliance Partner.
• Provide regular feedback to senior management on any issues identified within the Quilter group.
• Conduct customer care calls as appropriate to substantiate findings or support competency sign-off.
• Manage identified issues to conclusion through effective use of enhanced monitoring events action plans and governance action plans.

NB: This is a SMCR certified role: CASS Oversight, Functions requiring qualifications & Manager of Certification employees.

Qualifications

• Level 4 Diploma qualified as a minimum.
• Proven experience in working within the financial services sector, ideally within a T&C supervisory function.
• Self-starter, motivated, inquisitive by nature, and able to work independently on own initiative.
• Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to follow compliance rules and enforce standards as directed by the network.
• Strong communication skills, particularly strong questioning skills.
• Sound judgment when assessing risks and developing action plans.
• Experience of Network/National and IFA/restricted advice models desirable but not essential.
