Role Description
The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience that provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and be part of our company. Our college interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored under their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the entire summer. Through the internship program, our interns can attend development workshops that are focused on key business concepts.

This is a paid 10-week summer internship from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week). Interns may reside in either a technical or non-technical area. Development workshops are provided to help with the transition from school to the corporate environment. Housing is not provided as part of our program.
Essential Accountabilities:

Support the Corporate Tax Compliance team in executing key tax compliance, tax accounting, general accounting, and process improvement activities.

Gain exposure to federal, state tax, and accounting and financial reporting processes.

Work alongside experienced tax and accounting professionals on projects that support the organization's tax and accounting function and strategic objectives.

Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects.

Complete work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.

Perform a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks covering a broad range of business-related projects.

Create and deliver presentations at completion of internship.

Demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies' mission and values.

Maintain confidentiality and protection of member privacy in accordance with company policies.

Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.

Perform other functions as assigned by management.
Qualifications
-
Desired Majors/Degree Programs Include: Accounting, Business & Management (i.e. Finance, Actuarial, Accounting, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, etc.) or similar program(s).

Preferred (but not required) experience with: Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Accounting (or similar program) and have completed at least one tax course.

Strong interest in corporate tax and tax accounting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Interest in leveraging technology and data analytics to solve business problems.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).

Must be in good academic standing.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Ability to work well in a team and establish good working relationships with peers.

Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.

Requirements

Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.

Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed.
Compensation
-
Level I - Minimum $18.00 - Maximum $20.00

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position.

Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the positionβs minimum qualifications.

The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package.
