Role Description

Beacon Solutions Group, a subsidiary of The Bonadio Group, is looking for a Billing Specialist. This person will provide billing services and general revenue cycle services to health care clients including:

• Nursing homes
• Professional services
• Hospitals
• D&TC
• OPWDD
• OASAS
• Home health
• Legal and third party payers

The ideal candidate for this position has experience with:

• Behavioral health billing
• Insurance claims
• Medicaid/Medicare
• Commercial payers
• Electronic health records (EHR) or practice management systems

Responsibilities include:

• Providing revenue cycle support to Beacon clients, team members, and firm employees.
• Completing duties associated with being an outsourced billing service provider including charge entry, payment posting, claims submission and follow up, coding, and auditing.
• Assisting with cash recovery projects, including project productivity monitoring.
• Assisting with diagnostic reviews of revenue cycles to determine opportunities for best practice performance and preparation of written reports.
• Identifying opportunities to improve services to individual clients and developing suggestions for adjustment of services as appropriate.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an associates degree.
• A minimum of three years of billing experience in physician, hospital, or nursing home environment.
• Solid understanding of revenue cycle processes.
• Must be willing to travel within New York; overnight travel occasionally required.

Requirements

• Experience with behavioral health or substance use disorder organizations (preferred).
• Experience with denial management and insurance appeals (preferred).
• Certified Professional Biller (CPB), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), or similar certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with ePACES and FISS DDE (preferred).

Benefits

• The salary for this position is between $21.00 and $26.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience.
• Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
• Summer hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with Flex Friday scheduling available in accordance with firm policy and business needs.
• Flexibility in work hours, with the ability to work additional hours at peak times.
