Qualifications

• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably with US-based companies or in a US GAAP environment
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles
• Experience managing general ledger activities and month-end close processes
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, financial modeling, and data analysis
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Sage, or similar platforms
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Experience in mortgage industry accounting, including loan origination, gain-on-sale accounting, warehouse lines, and investor accounting (Highly Preferred)
• Background in the financial services or lending industry (Highly Preferred)
• CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification (Highly Preferred)
• Experience working remotely or offshore with US-based companies (Highly Preferred)

Requirements

• Prepare accurate financial statements, maintain general ledger integrity, and ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Demonstrate exceptional accuracy in financial data entry, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Analyze financial data, identify trends, investigate variances, and provide actionable financial insights
• Communicate complex accounting concepts clearly and professionally with finance teams and business stakeholders
• Manage multiple priorities effectively while meeting month-end and year-end close deadlines

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare financial statements, including the Profit and Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP accounting standards
• Perform bank, account, and intercompany reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Analyze financial variances and provide supporting explanations
• Create and maintain Excel-based financial models, reports, pivot tables, and dashboards
• Prepare management reports and financial summaries
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis as requested
• Track and reconcile loan origination fees, revenue, escrow accounts, and trust accounts (if applicable)
• Account for warehouse line funding and investor delivery transactions (if applicable)
• Reconcile third-party vendor invoices, including appraisal, title, and credit service providers (if applicable)
• Support gain-on-sale calculations and reporting (if applicable)
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP accounting standards and company policies
• Support internal and external audits
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and operational efficiency
• Maintain organized financial documentation and supporting schedules
