Role Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer to establish and oversee all financial aspects of our operations in Malta and globally.
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's goals
- Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards
- Manage cash flow, P&L performance and efficient treasury operations
- Financial control experience with a focus on prudent funds and cost management
- Lead internal and external audits, addressing findings effectively
- Build and manage a high-performing finance team
- Develop financial models to aid strategic planning and scenario analysis
- Provide actionable financial insights to support executive decision-making
- Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations
- Act as an official representative in interactions with regulators and authorities
- Data extraction, analysis and structuring for reporting purposes
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in financial roles, at least 1 year of managerial experience
- Experience in fintech or related industries
- Experience with MFSA annual audit for EMI licence compliance
- Knowledge of BR06 report for Malta’s finance industry
- Expertise in auditing and safeguarding accounts
- Experience with Payments Statistics Survey (CMPSS) and regulatory reporting
- Understanding of payment systems and electronic money operations
- Expertise in regulatory compliance, financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS), and tax regulations
- Familiarity with financial reports for regulators, including Central Banks or MFSA
- Demonstrated success in managing cash flow, liquidity, and audits
- Proficiency in financial analysis, scenario planning, and strategic decision-making
- Experience in corporate finance, including capital structure and budgeting
- Skilled in using financial software and systems to enhance operational efficiency
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in dynamic environments
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Odoo, SAP, 1C, Oracle)
- Fluent English and Ukrainian/Russian is a must
- Maltese language would be a plus
- Relocation to Malta (if not Malta-based)
Education
- A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or ACCA are a plus
