Role Description
As the Credit & Capital Risk Management Associate at Upstart, you will support key risk management initiatives for Upstart’s loan portfolios and co-investment structures.
- Assist in monitoring and managing credit risks across Upstart’s loan portfolios and investment structures.
- Conduct data-driven analysis to assess credit performance trends and underwriting dynamics.
- Support the development of investor-facing credit narratives and advocacy on AI-based credit underwriting models.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with capital markets, analytics and finance teams to enhance risk assessment frameworks.
- Support internal and external reporting requirements on our risk capital or co-investment structures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in credit risk, capital markets, structured finance, or a related area.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to manage complex cashflow models.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear insights.
Requirements
- Proven success in working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with AI-based underwriting models is a plus.
- Experience working with large datasets (SQL, Python, or VBA).
