[Hiring] Utility, Sales, & Order Lead Engineer @Siemens

Role Description

Support sales force on medium voltage air insulated and gas insulated switchgear packages. Responsibilities include:

• Interpret project plans and specifications, product application, configuration of product, technical support, proposal preparation, lead time information, and review project terms and conditions.
• Collaborate with the Sales and Business Development teams during project negotiations.
• Decipher project plans, one-lines, three-lines, schematics, and specifications to configure systems, offer technical support, and craft compelling commercial proposals.
• Provide professional engineering services with minimal directions to interpret customer drawings and specifications for manufacturing or related products.
• Review customer needs and specifications to determine the minimum bill of material, the most competitive price level, and shipment cycle within the market segment.
• Interact with the sales force and customers on job-specific details such as on-board approvals and witness tests.
• Design circuits to meet application requirements.
• Create engineering documentation for drafting, procurement, and manufacturing.
• Provide coordination for technical guidance to production personnel, support product marketing, and provide negotiation and application support for field sales and business development.
• Serve as primary division contact for customers as technical liaison in all aspects of product application, performance, and compliance to specifications and solutions.
• Participate in product design, market and product improvements, as well as productivity, quality, and safety improvements.
• Facilitate order entry, order and price reconciliation, and other customer-requested functions.
• Up to 20% domestic travel required. Remote work permitted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered, or as a Solution Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Lead Engineer, or an acceptable alternate occupation.
• Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study, and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or as a Solution Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Lead Engineer, or an acceptable alternate occupation.
• Experience with the following:
• Medium voltage air insulated or gas insulated products and associated components, such as bus duct, transformers, etc.
• Protection systems, control systems, and communication protocols.
• Project management, with experience managing multiple jobs simultaneously and prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Engineering design software for 2-D drawings, such as AutoCAD or E-base.
• Up to 20% domestic travel required. Remote work permitted.
