[Hiring] Static Stress Engineer @Airbus

Role Description

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Static Stress Engineer (Contract) to join our Engineering Team based in Wichita, KS. This position supports the fleet in-service repair of aircraft structures and is responsible for the justification of repair solutions from a Static Stress point of view, on Time, to Cost and to Quality.

• Perform static analysis for both metallic and non-metallic parts.
• Work in close collaboration with design and fatigue colleagues to provide repair solutions.
• Use classical hand calculations and computer techniques to develop efficient repair solutions to satisfy airworthiness requirements and customers (Airlines/MROs).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical) with a strong curriculum emphasis on structural design and analysis and mechanics of materials.
• 0 - 6 years analysis experience in airframe design/repair programs.
• Authorized to work in the US without current, or future, need of visa sponsorship.
• In-depth knowledge of classical and numerical (Finite Element) stress analysis methods.
• Exposure to airframe design, stress analysis, composites, MRB, FAR/JAR/CS/Part 21, Certification, CATIA, NASTRAN, PATRAN and HYPERWORKS is desired.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint).
• Proficiency with G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).

Requirements

• Up to 5% Domestic and International Travel involved.
• A Master's Degree in Engineering is a plus.
• MRO/Fleet Engineering experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with coding in Python a plus.
• Conversational French and/or German is a plus.

• Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
• Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices; daily.
