[Hiring] Senior Engineer - Turbine Design Engineer @GE Vernova

Role Description

The Turbine Design Engineer (TDE) will manage and provide technical leadership for project specific teams delivering high quality Steam Turbine (ST) engineering designs satisfying project performance, cycle, and cost targets (CTQ) and deliver them on-time and within budget. The TDE will complete steampath design and will be supported by teams assigned at project release including engineers of different disciplines across global locations – Schenectady NY USA, Baden CH, and GEIQ in Mexico. The TDE is responsible for the project execution metrics, including on-time delivery, quality, and productivity for both new unit, services, and NPI projects. The TDE will also support feasibility studies/reports as required.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery of high-quality ST engineering designs that meet performance, cycle, and cost targets and deliver them on-time and within budget.
• Manage assigned design teams from engineering release through installation - responsible for the output of the team driving progress and decisions with urgency.
• Design the steampath for projects using the corresponding tools.
• Perform feasibility studies and complete supporting documentation.
• Support factory and field issues.

Qualifications

• This role requires significant experience in Engineering, Technology, and Systems Engineering. Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university (for roles outside of the USA).
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience in Steam Turbine Design) for roles in the USA.
• 8 years of experience of engineering in Steam Turbine design and/or operability and a familiarity with Steam Turbine component design/operability design process, tools, and procedures.
• Proficiency in English.

• Advanced degree or Edison Program Graduate.
• Steam turbine component and steampath design experience.
• Self-starter with energy, positive attitude, and history of delivering on commitments.
• Demonstration of the GE Vernova Way; Innovation, Customers, Lean, and Accountability.
• Strong leadership skills, capable of involving and influencing all levels of GE and customer organizations.
• Excellent communication skills and intercultural awareness.
• Passion for Quality, LEAN, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement with an ability to identify, influence, and implement better ways to do an activity or process.
• Second Language preferred, such as German, French, Spanish, or Polish.

Requirements

• For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00.
• The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
• Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
