Role Description

As a Field Service Technician, you’ll play an important role in supporting our customers by:

• Independently inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical distribution equipment.
• Performing electrical testing on transformers, breakers, switchgear, relays, and related power distribution equipment.
• Identifying equipment issues and assisting in diagnosing electrical problems and determining appropriate corrective actions.
• Interpreting one-line diagrams and control schematics to support testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
• Operating industrial electrical test equipment and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Responding to customer needs and occasional emergency service calls with professionalism, urgency, and a strong customer-service focus.
• Communicating testing results, equipment conditions, and identified issues to customers, senior technicians, and internal stakeholders.
• Following company and customer safety standards, including PPE, lockout/tagout, hazard awareness, and established electrical safety procedures.
• Completing accurate daily reports, test documentation, service records, and other required paperwork.
• Properly managing, checking in/out, maintaining, and caring for company tools and test equipment.
• Working effectively both independently and as part of a field service team.
• Traveling extensively locally and regionally, based on business and customer needs.
• Working overtime and outside of regular business hours, including nights and weekends, based on outages, emergency service calls, and project deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical training or associate degree in electrical trades preferred.
• NETA 2 certification preferred; will substitute 3+ years of relevant work experience on commercial or industrial electrical projects.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams and control schematics.
• Skilled in the use of industrial electrical test equipment and hand tools.
• Strong commitment to safety, including PPE use, lockout/tagout, and hazard awareness.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background and drug-screen requirements.
• Willingness to travel to job sites and work extended or irregular hours as needed.
• Eligibility to work in the US without need for employer sponsored VISA (work permit).

Requirements

• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work in outdoor or industrial environments.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces.
• Ability to work extended hours, including nights or weekends during outages or emergency service calls.
